Are Coincidences Really Coincidences?

Seeing God's Hand in Everyday Life.

Have you ever experienced a moment that seemed too perfectly timed to be mere chance?

Perhaps you received an encouraging phone call just when you needed it most. Maybe you crossed paths with someone who offered exactly the advice you were searching for. Or perhaps an unexpected event changed the course of your life in ways you never anticipated.

Many people would call these moments coincidences. Others see them as reminders that God is quietly at work behind the scenes.

Throughout Scripture, God often worked through unexpected people and situations. A chance meeting, an unlikely friendship, or an unforeseen opportunity became part of a greater purpose. What appeared ordinary on the surface was often part of a much larger story.

The same can be true in our lives today. While we may not always understand why certain events happen when they do, faith encourages us to trust that God sees the bigger picture. Even when His presence is not immediately obvious, He may be guiding us in ways we cannot yet see.

This does not mean that every event is miraculous or that every coincidence carries a hidden message. However, it does invite us to live with greater awareness and gratitude. When we pay attention, we often discover that some of our greatest blessings arrive through the most unexpected circumstances.

Life is filled with moments that challenge us, surprise us, and sometimes redirect us entirely. Looking back, many of us can identify events that seemed random at the time but later proved to be turning points in our journey.

Perhaps the question is not whether coincidences exist. Perhaps the question is whether we are willing to consider that God may be working through them.

As we navigate our daily lives, it is worth taking a moment to reflect on the unexpected blessings, timely encounters, and quiet moments of guidance that have shaped our paths. We may discover that what once appeared to be a coincidence was actually part of a story much greater than ourselves.

What experiences in your own life have made you pause and wonder whether there was more at work than simple chance?
